Family Vacation 2013

My mom told me in November that we were going to Myrtle Beach again this year. We have been here since February 21st and we are having a blast. The weather is finally nice enough to go to the beach so Sarah, grandpa, and I spent a little bit of time outside this morning.

The condo that my grandparents are renting this year has a heated pool so we have been swimming every day since we have been here. Sarah absolutely loves swimming so I've been trying to teach her how to. I am not the greatest swimmer but I do fairly well.
Yesterday when we got back from swimming there was a wedding happening on the beach out side our condo. It was pretty cool. I've never seen a beach wedding so it makes me want to do one myself when ever I get married.
Since the weather was nice Sarah wanted to go play

I've gone shopping a few times since I got here and I have found some really good deals on things. I found 4 bras for like $8.00, a shirt for $7.00, a pair of sunglasses and earrings for $5.00 each. I also went to this Christmas store that is open year round and bought 2 ornaments. One is made of shells and looks like an ice cream cone and will go on Sarah's birthday tree. The other one is a mini New York Yankees bat for my brother that has his name on it. I think he will really like it. The ornaments were less than $10.00. I also got a new wallet for $1.99. I'm really happy with all my deals.

My poor sick baby.

I can not believe that I have a 2 year old. Life is crazy most days but when isn't it. I spend a lot of time in the doctors office with Sarah. She either has an ear infection or bronchitis or RSV. I really wish that they could figure out what is making my princess sick. I hate when she is sick because she is clingy and needier than usual. I love her but I can't handle the clingy. She had RSV at 3 months then starting after her first birthday she has had bronchitis almost once a month for the last 14 months.
Some months it's more than once. In December and January Sarah had bronchitis 6 times in those 2 months. It was enough for the doctor to finally give her a breathing machine and tell me that she has the baby form of asthma. It breaks my heart when I have to give her breathing treatment because she fusses and cries but I can't do anything about that because she needs to get better.

used it at home. (January 8, 2013)
I love my little one but the first time doing her breathing treatment was scary for her. The picture to the left is the first time that she used her new machine at home. The first time we ever did a breathing treatment was back last year in the E.R. when the doctors thought she had pneumonia. But thankfully it was just bronchitis and a sinus infection. This was just the start of the sickness's this year. Since the start of using the breathing machine she has had bronchitis about 3-4 times and every time she has bronchitis she gets a sinus infection on top of it.

I love my little girl but I need some advice from anyone who reads this. Can you suggest anything to help her not get sick so much? I mean I have cats but we have tested her with pet dander and nothing happened. I'm just worried that she is going to be that kid who is always sick. The doctors know me by my first name now and when I call to make an appointment they just ask when can I be there? It's funny but sad. Life for her has been great for the most part. With the exception of being sick for what seems all the time and with her daddy getting arrested she has been a wonderful kid.

When she is sick she is super funny. She doesn't act like she is sick. She acts like she doesn't have a care in the world. She wants to curl up on the couch with juice and some sort of snack and watch Despicable Me or Curious George for hours and hours at time. I love to just snuggle with her when she is really tired and just sing Your are my Sunshine and tell her a funny princess story about a sick girl and how she needs to get better soon to go to the park. She perks up real quick when I say that. She is my world and I wish my world wouldn't be so sick all the time.

When I was Pregnant.

Hello everyone. My name is Emily and I'm a 22-year old recently single mother of a wonderful two year old little girl. Its been two months since Sarah's father got into some legal trouble and has told by the judge that he can not have contact with Sarah or I. It's been vary hard adjusting to being a single mom, but it's getting a lot better. Sarah seems so much happier and I'm getting there. I've been getting back in touch with my old friends and spending more time with family. It's been fun but very trying.
Her father and I were together for about 5.5 years. We started dating in 2007 at the end of my sophomore year. We had known each other for like 3 years before we started dating so we were great friends. We constantly broke up but things were normally better the next class or even later that day. Things were ok but I was comfortable being in the relationship so I thought nothing of it. But things started changing after I graduated in 2009. He started becoming distant and verbally abusive. I just brushed it off and continued trying my hardest make things work between us. Since I was 30 miles away at school that fall he started accusing me of cheating and I denied it a lot even though I was cheating on him. I hadn't been happy for a while but I couldn't come up with a good enough excuse to break up with him.
At the beginning of 2010 he and I broke up for a month or so then got back together in March of that year. We ended up conceiving the week we broke up. Then we broke up again around the end of March.  It wasn't until 2 months later that I found out I was pregnant. I was dating someone else at the time I found  that I was pregnant and when I told Chris that I was he denied that it was his. I knew for a fact that it was his baby and but he swore up and down that it was my ex's.
My pregnancy was crazy I had a blood infection the whole time, I gained about 70 pounds and had a miscarriage scare at 16 weeks. When I had the scare we ended up finding out that I was having a girl and it was the best news that I could have ever received. My baby girl was healthy and it was just me that was sick.
I went in for my 20 week check up and Chris went with me. At this appointment was the first time I had seen him cry in almost a year. He kept telling me "I want a boy because if we have a girl you will make her a girly girl." The doctor asked me several times if we wanted to know what we were having and originally we wanted it to be a surprise but then we decided in the ultrasound room that we wanted to know. The gender reveal was the last picture she took. All she said was "There are the hamburger buns." I just looked at her and laughed. I couldn't help it. Because when I went in at 16 weeks the doctor who did my ultra sound said "Looks like a girl because there isn't a turtle head."
After I finished laughing at the ultrasound tech I looked at Chris and he had tears in his eyes and he was the happiest that he could be. He finally fessed up to wanting a girl all along. The last 19 weeks of my pregnancy were rough. I was working on my feet 35 - 45 hours a week and already huge at 20 weeks. I begged the doctor to induce me a week early because I refused to be pregnant and uncomfortable on Christmas Day. My original due date was December 27, 2010.
The last 19 weeks went by fast and I grew so much. Then 8 o'clock p.m. on December 19th got here and I was leaving Wendy's to head to the hospital to be induced. I don't think I will ever have fast food an hour before being induced again. It was one of the worst mistakes I could have made while pregnant. Being induced was a good idea until the had to do my epidural. It took them 45 minutes to put it in. They did that at 9 a.m. on the 20th and at 3:54 p.m. I had Sarah.

I cried like a kid who lost her candy when I saw her. Her head had some bruising on it from where she got stuck when i was pushing and they had to suction her out. She was very healthy at 8 lbs. 12 oz and 21 inches long. I was surprised when she didn't have much hair cause I had a some heart burn while pregnant. Her daddy cried some too but he was instantly wrapped around her little finger. She is the first grand kid for my parents and they fell in love with her instantly. I could not believe how much love I could have for someone so small. The night she was born ended with her daddy and I just admiring our little girl and just enjoying the change that was parenthood.

These are just some more pictures from the first few days she was born. You can tell I was huge.
